Terms of Business

Last updated: 15/07/2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all electrical work carried out by DGH Electrical (“we”, “us”, “our”) for the customer (“you”, “your”).

By accepting a quotation or instructing DGH Electrical to carry out work, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

General

These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, electrical installations, repairs, inspections, maintenance and related services provided by DGH Electrical.

Any variation to these Terms & Conditions must be agreed in writing before work commences.

Electrical Installation Work

All electrical work carried out by DGH Electrical will comply with the current edition of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and all relevant Building Regulations applicable at the time of installation.

Where certification is required, the appropriate electrical certificate will be issued upon completion of the work, subject to full payment being received.

If any existing electrical installation is found to be unsafe or non-compliant, we will discuss any additional work required before proceeding.

Quotations

All quotations remain valid for 30 days from the date they are issued unless otherwise stated.

No deposit is required unless specifically stated within the quotation.

Any work requested outside the original quotation may result in additional charges. No additional work will be undertaken without discussing this with you first.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the work and on receipt of your invoice, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We currently accept payment by:

  • Bank Transfer

  • Cash

DGH Electrical reserves the right to withhold electrical certification until payment has been received in full.

Late payment may result in interest and recovery costs being applied in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.

Access to Your Property

Customers are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the areas where work will be carried out.

Please remove or protect valuable items before work begins. Whilst every reasonable care will be taken, DGH Electrical cannot accept responsibility for damage to belongings that have not been moved or protected.

Making Good

Unless specifically included within your quotation, decorating, plastering, flooring repairs and other finishing works are not included.

Where electrical work requires chasing walls or lifting flooring, these areas will be left ready for the appropriate finishing trades.

Customer Supplied Materials

Where customers choose to supply their own fixtures, fittings or equipment, DGH Electrical cannot guarantee compatibility, performance or manufacturer warranties.

Any additional labour required due to unsuitable customer-supplied products may incur additional charges.

Consumer Unit Replacements

Replacement consumer units require testing of the existing electrical installation before they can be safely commissioned.

Where faults are identified that prevent certification, remedial work may be required before the installation can be completed. Any additional work will be discussed with you before proceeding.

Electrical Certificates

Where applicable, DGH Electrical will provide the appropriate certification following completion of the work.

This may include:

  • Electrical Installation Certificate

  • Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate

  • Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

  • Building Regulations notification where required

Certification will only relate to work completed by DGH Electrical.

Manufacturer warranties remain the responsibility of the manufacturer and are subject to their own terms and conditions.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage

  • Alterations or repairs carried out by third parties

  • General wear and tear

Emergency & Out of Hours Call Outs

Emergency call outs during evenings, weekends and public holidays are charged at double the standard hourly rate, unless otherwise agreed before work commences.

Waste removal is not included unless agreed before work begins.

Where requested and agreed in advance, DGH Electrical can remove waste generated during the works. Any associated costs will be discussed before work commences.
